Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We have been so busy, I feel like I haven't blogged in a long time. The past few days we did a lot of running around. Friday we headed over to Target. Our Target isn't close so we don't get to go often. That will change soon, a new one is being built close to us and I can't wait. I just love their clearance. The white canister with the chalkboard on the front was only $3.87 and the glass candy dish was $2. These were the last two, otherwise I would have gotten a couple more!
Then on Saturday we headed over to a flea market we haven't been to in a while. Unfortunately I forgot to grab my camera so no pictures of the beautiful things they had. There was a butcher block table that would make a great island in my kitchen. The bottom was wood etched with a floral design on the sides. It was painted a cream color and naturally distressed with two little drawers under the counter. It was amazing and I can't stop thinking about it. It was $200. They do have layaway, hmmmm....

Here's what I came home with. An ironstone plate and a little candle holder.

After our antiquing we decided to check out a furniture store. I wasn't expecting to come home with furniture but we found an amazing deal on a floor model. It's so comfy and I especially love the big ottoman. Our old living room set was so worn, it's refreshing to walk in the room and see a couch without tears and stains on it. Ignore the curtains that don't match and the white walls, this room is on the "to do" list somewhere.....page 3,585 maybe.

Now I can finally decide on a paint color since I have the furniture to plan around. My wall has looked like this for months now.....

Abusing the furniture already, sheesh! Get off the arm of the new chair!

Even with all the running around, we still managed to get some work done in our back room. My husband started on the top pieces of the wall trim. Of course where I wanted it to sit landed right in the middle of the light switch. Oops.

Looking level!
We're going to put pieces on the wall around the room about every 15 inches. I propped a couple up on the wall to get an idea of what it would look like.

And then I got started painting the bottom white. It's getting there! I need to do a second coat on the white and then we can start wallpaper on the two walls.

No wonder you are so pleased ... new furniture is really lovely. I'm blessed to have a Target close by - even in the smallish city I live in!

Your walls look fantastic, can't wait to see them finished. I'm loving your new furniture, the colors are so pretty. And your canister, wow! I'm going to town on Wed., I bet they will be gone by then. Why can't I ever find great deals?

I love your new walls too. I've seen the idea on several of the blogs I read and I'm thinking of using it when I redo my dining room. It makes such an elegant statement for so little $$. And such deals you found. It's too cold here in Tennessee to do much deal hunting, but I'm really getting geared up for the warmer weather. And Target is on my way home from work, so guess where I'll be stopping? I'll keep following along to see how your project is coming along.

My husband says my 2 daughters don't so much shop at Target, but pay rent to Target, because we live there!!! He is exaggerating, but I do love their clearance policy. I love a good bargain!!! :D Jewel
