A Couple Updates

I've been rearranging around here lately. Ever get in that mood where you just want to move everything around? Must be the change in weather, it's been quite cold here in Pa.

I love this dish soap that Target sells. I'm not a fan of lemon scented cleaning products and this has such a pleasant smell to it. It works well too!

I moved the kitchen "island" (aka the completely unfinished dresser that will be an actual island someday) sideways. I think it frees up more walking space in the kitchen and gives more room to anyone sitting in the chairs. Unfinished though so more about that later....

Remember those corbels my daughter and I found? Here is where she wanted to hang them. I think it's the perfect spot since you can see them when you walk in the front door....

And on the kitchen side, they frame out the front door. I couldn't be happier with them.

I also wanted to update on the dishwasher! I talked about it HERE.

So far, so good! It is holding up nicely and I haven't had to do anything at all to it. After it was painted I used two coats of sealant. Just the Valspar sealer from Lowes.

Well this was a completely random post for Friday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We are supposed to have a Halloween parade. I'm crossing my fingers the weather cooperates!

ok so I'm totally adoring the skirted sink you have next to the fabulous dishwasher!! I'm with you on the rearranging thing - me too - maybe it's because we're trying (can't) not to buy anything new that we're making our spaces fresh by moving stuff around! Rest up!

Hi Michelle - Your house - strike that - your home - is always so lovely and I love to visit!! I esp. love that photo of the pear in the window sill - it looks so pretty to me.

I have a question it you don't mind - the picture of the corbels you and your daughter found - the one from the kitchen looking out - I think its the 6th one down - you have a little two globe sconce with fringe on the sconces - is that wired or just for looks? I'm moving soon and have a wall that needs some "interest" and was thinking of doing something like that - and even if they aren't wired they still look good on the wall and are more interesting than a picture or mirror, etc. I'm just curious. If you have a minute, can you either email me back (it's on my blog) or just leave a comment?

Thanks and have a good weekend -

I love to rearrange things, but I'm usually not happy when I'm done, and I end up putting it all back where it started! I love where you put the corbels, and that dish soap looks lovely! Have a great day! :)

You are the vignette queen my friend. I love the corbels there. Your daughter has perfect taste, just like her mama :)

Glad to see the dish washer held up. I'm thinking about copying you ;)

Such pretty accents. I love all the white. I bought some Watkins products from a school fundraiser once and liked them. Next time we cross the border I will be sure to check a Target for that adorable bottle. Happy Weekend!

I love to move things around too. It seems to just give things a fresh look. (It also makes me dust things I wouldn't normally get to)

Thanks for showing us the corbels and how you used them in the doorway...perfect!
I looked at an older post and loved the treat jar for your dog...and the dog photo near by. We are a dog family...now we have more dogs than kids!
I think your island is a great idea to add more counter space as your kitchen is so cozy and well done.
Great job!
