Some advice..

Good morning! The sun is shining here today, such a beautiful day.

I've asked you for advice before and I'm going to do it again! We recently bought a schoolhouse light for the Everything Room and I love the light but I'm not sure if it should stay. After it was installed, I got to thinking maybe it would look better in the kitchen. It's not an easy light to install so before I ask hubby to move it, I want to get your opinions! Pretty please?!

This is what it looks like in the room.....do you see Spidey hanging out?

Yeah, this is what I saw when I woke up this morning and came downstairs. If that's not a scary way to start the day, I don't know what is.....

And this is the light in the kitchen (which used to be in the everything room).....

From the other direction.....okay that thing has to go, he's freaking me out.

Ahhh, much better.

So what do you think? The blue on the schoolhouse light would match the kitchen ceiling, which could be a good or a bad thing. It might look nice...or blend too much. I'm not into matchy matchy but the light blue on the light in front of the aqua door is throwing me off a bit.

Ack! Help me!

Okay, I love the chandelier in the kitchen, BUT, I think the schoolhouse light would be a better fit. I think it would look fantastic in there!

I agree with Kirsty. I love both lights, but the schoolhouse light would be more suitable for the kitchen...don't tell your husband I said that, tee-hee.

I'm with Kirsty, I love the chandelier in the kitchen but the schoolhouse fixture would look awesome in the kitchen. The chandy would look great in a bedroom or better yet, a pretty bathroom!!!

I love when you show lots of pictures of your home - your kitchen is the most charming I've seen. There's so many things I love about it...and I LOVE the chandelier in there but I agree, I think you should switch the lights. The blue stripe is also throwing me off - I think it would fit in perfectly in the kitchen - it would not be matchy matchy at all.
How lucky you are to have some many great things to work with and move around! :)

It appears to be unanimous. . . the schoolhouse light needs to go into the kitchen!

Both fixtures are amazing! I think the schoolhouse light would be perfect in your kitchen!

The first thing I thought was "oh, I love that light. It's so pretty"! I never would have thought that it looks funny in the everything room if you wouldn't have mentioned it. But...now that you do mention it, maybe it would look better in the kitchen, and the little chandy would look better back in the everything room. Oh, and I'm sure your husband has had to do many switcheroos for you before, like my husband has had to do for me. If your husband is anything like mine, he'll get over it. ;)

your house is so pretty, I like both light fixtures. Where did you get the school house light? I would love one in my kitchen. The blue painted ceiling looks so good with the white cabinets in your house

I am going against the grain...I like the school house where it is and love the little chandy in the kitchen. That also equals zero work for hubby which makes everyone happy. Good luck!

Ok your probably going to hate me and I may be wrong but I like the chanelier in the kitchen and would even like one in the everything room but to me the schoolhouse light looks a little small for both rooms (from the pic's anyway) It just looks like its going to get lost in both of the rooms?? I do have to say this I love both of the lights (;

Loving them both but I'm in agreement with all the others to put the schoolhouse light in the kitchen. Tell your husband we are all sorry but it has to be changed or he'll have a dozen ladies after him, lol!

I'd do the switcharoo...and tell Spidey to move on.

When you said do you see spidey, I thought I was supposed to look for spider webs near your light fixture like at my house....hahhaha. The room looks great, and quite honestly I jumped right down to the comments before I had a look.....I will leave the opinion to the others as they are doing a great job....

Nice, nice nice!

I agree, the school house light would look nice in the kitchen. The chandy in a bedroom.

What a great find. I am a new follower.

I would just switch the lights if I were you! Both are great fixtures, but might work better in the opposite room! Hope this helps :)!

I'd say the same. The schoolhouse light would look better in the kitchen. I love the chandelier in the kitchen, though.

I love the chandelier but feel like it would look better in the everything room:) The schoolhouse is a different color than the door and that would drive me crazy too!

So, tell the hubs sorry but it sounds like he has work to do!

HUGS!

Sorry hubby, but I think it needs to be moved! Whatever you decide in the end, they both are amazing.

I said from the start that we should put that light in the kitchen. How come I always wind up right in the end? Love you, Your Husband

I would move it to the kitchen.

Ron, you are too funny. Maybe you should make more of the decorating decisions around here! :-)

I'm with everyone else, I think it would look better in the kitchen. Yep, Spidey needs to go somewhere else.

I just LOVE seeing pictures like this of your gorgeous home. It is beautiful!!!!

Well I'm not going with the crowd, I love the small chandelier. I think it is small enough and not loaded with crystals to work! I think the blue on the school house lamp does clash with the door blue, but then it's just my opinion! Good luck with whatever you decide!

I agree switch them. I have one of those scary things in my house.lol

I can understand asking for advice, especially since you said it was hard to put up. But I think you should switch it. The first thing I thought of when I saw the school house light was that it was a kitchen light. And the other light is going to be much too fussy to clean kitchen grease from.

Wow, your home is charming as are the lighting fixtures. I have restored several historic homes and school house lights in the kitchen are classic, although I think the chandelier works well in there too! Enjoyed my first visit to your blog and will be following. Please stop by when you get a chance!

Well I have gone back and looked at the pictures several times and I'm really torn. I like them both but I am partial to chandeliers over schoolhouse lights but it's hard to give advice from pics so I think you should go with your gut.

Sorry, probably not much help but it looks like you got a lot of good advice.
