Flowers and paint

Good morning bloggers! My laptop isn't fixed yet but I thought I would post anyway, I miss it! It's taking me a little longer with this computer but it's working so that's a plus! I figured I would start off the post with some pretty. My hubby brought these flowers home for me last week and they were so pretty. I couldn't get a good picture to capture all the colors but they were beautiful.

The dining room has been bugging me for a while. I love the paint color in the living room but the lighting difference in the dining room made it much darker, and bluer. I've had a bunch of paint swatches on the walls for weeks trying to decide on something which leads to this......

A huge mess! I did finally decide on a color and it's coming along! I appreciated all your suggestions on painting my chairs! For now I'm going to leave them be and see how they are with the new wall color. My hesitation is that the dining room is our main eating area and the chairs would chip easily with kids who put their feet under them to eat and buttons and such on pants. I'm worried I'd be repainting them constantly.

I'll be back soon with the results. This will be the 3rd color this room has seen in 2 years. I told my husband if this color doesn't work out, we're moving.

Are your kids back to school? Are you happy or sad about the start of a new year? Mine start next week and yes, I'm one of those moms. You know, the ones putting the kids on the bus and then dancing on the sidewalk. I need the routine back, I need some time without kids arguing over the Wii and who gets which swing, and I need to clean! Heck with spring cleaning, I'm going to do fall cleaning while the kids are at school!

Watch out dust bunnies, I'm a coming for ya!!

I do hope you have found the "right" color this time! Can't wait to see it when you are through.

I am one of those moms too. Though this summer Lexi and I DID have a lot of fun, I was definitely ready for a routine again. She went back on August 18th and she is loving it....YAY♥

It sounds like a good idea that the kids are out of the way for now~you have A LOT to keep you busy! Think how fresh your house will be with the new paint and fall cleaning once fall is really underway! That would have me dancing!! ;-D

Hope you are having a happy week!

I too was that parent doing the happy dance on the sidewalk...I love my kids, but I agree enough arguing over the computer, Wii and anything electronic! lol

I love the table and I too am a "paint the wood" kind of girl. I have done just that to my kitchen oak table and chairs. We have 5 kids and I had fun painting the chairs 3 different colors for every 2 chairs...make sense? I actually am going to be re-painting a couple of them some new colors. I love the pop of color the give to our kitchen and don't worry about the re-painting...I just distress them and put a clear coat over it. The kids give them more character! lol You can see what I did with mine on my post "Before and Afters". Can't wait to see what you do!

Hugs,
Victoria

Yep, school has started here. The first day was a bit quiet, but we are all back in a routine and I am much better.

I have been working busily at stocking my Etsy shop and (shhh don't tell anyone) I will be having a give a way soon, so please keep your eyes open for it. :o)

Have a great rest of your week.

Good luck with the paint color...I always live for weeks with color swatches taped everywhere too : ) I get so nervous about picking out colors- our bedroom has been painted twice in the last year alone. Looking forward to seeing your room completed! You have a lovely design taste.

I'm sure that dining room will be lovely - I've been meaning to paint my rooms for a couple of years and they are sorely in need of it.

I'm excited for school to start this year. My daughter is leaving home to for her first year at university. It's such a big change and she is so excited. I think my house is going to be a lot quieter with only one teen left at home.

I REALLY like painted furniture, floors whatever. I agree that for dining room chairs you may be doing quite a bit of touch ups. My dining room table is painted and since it is a pedestal style, the pedestal seems to see a lot of "foot action" and I've had to touch it up...but it's not as noticeable as chairs!

I'm laughing at your "dancing on the sidewalk" it seems like most moms these days wouldn't admit to that! :) I gotta say, I do miss those days... mine are 22 and 20 now.

Oooh, choosing colours! I've just been posting about that. We're choosing the colour for our kitchen. I hope you find just the right one this time. I can't wait to see what you choose.

Grrrr. I saw that you had posted today, and I thought you were going to reveal what paint color you decided on for your dining room. I was so excited. Guess I'm going to have to wait a little big longer, hm? :)
Our kids aren't back in school yet. They start on Monday. Four of our five children will be in school this year. It is going to be so quiet around here. Can't wait! Come on Monday!
Hope you have a great day. Hurry up with that dining room, will ya? :)
Beth.
