BHG loves me

Did you get your latest issue of Better Homes and Gardens? Wasn't I surprised to open it and see this page....the everything room! I'm positive that they must have gotten that term from me, aren't you? Don't tell me otherwise, I'm happy here in dreamland. Now, Better Homes and Gardens, I'll be expecting my royalty check in the mail any day now!

I love the look of these cookies on the cover, I may have to try these....

Do you remember my Powder Room project? Do you remember when I said we would have it and the kitchen done before Christmas? Did you laugh at me?? Well, you should have. That was laugh worthy for sure! We ("we" meaning my husband) started working on it again this week and it's coming along. He managed to get the mirror down in one piece so now he just has to move this electrical so we can have sconces instead of a single fixture....

He cut the wall out so we can make a support for the very heavy pedestal sink we found on Craigslist. We propped it up and looked at it and my heart went all a flutter. I wish I had taken a picture, it's going to look beautiful in here....

And the window is getting ready for some pretty trim and a new windowsill....

Sorry I don't have much to show you but to be honest, we're not in too much of a rush in here. We are fortunate to have two other bathrooms to use so we're taking our time getting this room done. We've been in hyper speed on most projects so it's nice to relax with a room redo for a change!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. The sun is shining here today and the kids are quiet so it's a beautiful Saturday. Hmmm....maybe the kids are too quiet. Gotta run!

Oh I did see that in BHG. I LOVE that magazine and read through it last night as a matter of fact! Those cookies do look YUMMY!

I think your powder room is going to be wonderful and it is always nice not to HAVE to barrel through a project because you need it so badly.

Enjoy your sun. It is raining here and supposed to be through the weekend. Have a great one!♥

Michelle,

I feel your pain in bathroom reno! We have been working on ours between Thomas' 13 hour M - F work week. Not fun.

You're getting your bathroom done quicker than we are on the attic. We haven't touched it in two weeks, but this weekend we're back in gear :)

I totally think they stole that from you!

Have fun this weekend :)

I saw the BHG issue, and it's fun to think you contributed, if only from afar! :)

"We", meaning my husband, too, began working on our upstairs bathroom months ago and was sure he could get it done before Christmas, but as you know from remodeling an old house, things do not always go as planned. But he is getting very close to done, and friends are coming over tomorrow to help tyle around the tub. I'm usually the "idea" person and he's the muscle, but I did paint the walls! The pedestal sink and toilet are in, so having water is great, and the flooring is installed. I so know what you are going through, and even though we don't meet deadlines, the end result is always worth the wait!

Ok, I am not from England; the word is "tile" not "tyle"! I'm not much of a typist!

Ok, BHG does owe you BIG TIME! I think we all do for finding you on here. You are an amazing wealth of renovation/decor (especially in details) information. I have been MIA with my move and all, but the last time I saw your kitchen I thought it was amazing, and now you've improved it AGAIN. I love your blog and your work. Thanks, thanks, thanks! Oh, BTW, your check is in the mail along with the one from BHG! ; )

I just received my BHG yesterday and read it last night. My daughter wants to make the cookies on the front.
Your "we" getting it done sounds alot like my "we". My husband is just now getting back to a project I thought would be done by Christmas. Hey, everyone needs a break, especially our husbands. Who if like mine also works a demanding 8 or more hours a day and my honey do list :)
Your pedestal sink is going to look lovely there, without a doubt.

Have a blessed weekend.

I just want to say I LOVE YOUR PLAYLIST! It sounds just like much of my ipod. I usually don't enjoy blog music ('cause I like listening to my own music while I blog) but you've sent me to iTunes to buy some new songs.

Thanks!

How great that your getting your rooms done over. It always takes longer than you think, even if you hire professionals.

I need to pick up a copy of it soon Michelle! That is so neat to see something you always say in a big magazine like that.

Your home really could be in it! You should send them your before and after photos of everything you guys do. Everyone loves to read about stuff like this and see the inspiring photos!

Have a blessed week. ~Melissa :)

PS Thanks for checking out our master bath!

Looks like you started a trend, Michelle! Too funny. I haven't had a chance to read my BHG yet so I hadn't seen that. Off to look for it right now! :-)

You know, I saw the title in the table of contents, and I thought "did they do a feature of Michelle's everything room!?" I wish they would have, your room would have been the nicest room in this months issue. I was very dissapointed with the magazine this month. Too contemporary. It went right in the garbage when I was finished with it. I would have saved it if you would have been in it! :)

CAN'T WAIT to see how your bathroom turns out! It is going to be so beautiful!! But, take you time. I'll wait! :)

Have a great day, Michelle!

Hi Michelle! I used 2 yards and it still didn't look as good as yours! When I opened the front door the day after, it had all slid to the bottom of the coat hanger! I know my neighbors were wondering...what the heck is that? lol So I put it on the floor and spread the burlap out evenly and then hot-glued it in a bunch of places. It has done well ever since! Thanks for the inspiration! ...Debbie
