Valentine's Day Decor

I have to admit, I have a difficult time with Valentine's Day decorating. I don't use much red or pink in my home and, although I make an exception for this particular holiday, it doesn't mesh well with the rest of my decor. I also find that so many commercial decorations for the holiday of love are on the silly side. And not the good kind of silly. I keep a little bit of silly around here for our wee ones but try to keep it to a minimum. Putting out their special school projects is a must but balance is key here.

Here are some Valentine inspirations that would make Cupid proud. I'll show you my own festive touches in another post. All photos courtesy of the wonderful Better Homes and Gardens website.

Oh I just love the V day wire tree! I would make hearts out of old book pages to hang on it.

These are sooo cute! I agree, I struggle with Valentine's Decorating every year, but I'm loving some of these! I'm going to be having a Valentine's Day Brunch so I might have to put some of these ideas into action :)

Cute pictures. I put out some Valentine's decorations each year but not many. I need to get them out since it is not far away.

The votives sitting in the sprinkles...LOVE IT!! I don't really decorate for Valentine's either. It seems that this is the time of year I'm always wanting to declutter not fluff the house up.

You have inspired me, I have an easter egg tree that is about to have have hearts on it.. I'll let you know how it turns out, I like you am not a fan of pink but I do stuff in my kitchen and it works fine but we try to have a fancy dinner for the girls and this idea will be perfect because the "tree" is cream and I'll use cream and sage hearts and the dinning room will be decorated fun for them. Your the best.

So many great ideas, and oh, so little time to make it all happen. Thanks for the inspiration. (the last photo is in my file but for a different reason - the cute red pillow with the dog on it- love it)

Lots of eye 'candy!' I've never decorated for vAlentines, but prolly will since I have a blog now. *snicker* I think I'm gonna do a valentine tree with sticks from my yard painted white and vintage valentines hung on the branches.

Or maybe not...depends on time as usual!

Great ideas for V Day decorations. I really don't like the silly Valentines Day things. Since my house is Victorian I usually go for the vintage look and I _always_ decorate with lots of red and pink. Now Easter decorations tend to look a little off in my house if they are too bright and they can be too silly also!

I do love pink and red, but I agree about be able to buy good Valentine's decoration. Believe it or not I hardly ever decorated for this holiday either. This year however, I believe I may try some of these ideas.
I always decorate the table and make a fancy dinner and dessert for my family. It's just a nice way to say "I love you".

Thanks for sharing
